I was unable to identify her family using conventional genealogical records because all of the Eidsvoll church records were destroyed by a fire in the Eidsvold church rectory in 1877 (see &#8220;<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/wiki\/en\/Eidsvoll_Parish,_Akershus,_Norway_Genealogy\" target=\"_blank\">Eidsvoll Parish, Akershus, Norway Genealogy<\/a>&#8221; at FamilySearch for more information about Eidsvoll records). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, thanks to DNA I have been able to trace her family back several generations. This page documents my 17-year path to enlightenment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"date-place-of-birth-and-her-father-s-name\">Date &amp; Place of Birth and her Father&#8217;s Name<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following facts were recorded when she married Anton Martin Syverson in Eidsvoll on 24 March 1877. The same date and location were also recorded in her 1891 death record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Her date of birth (<strong>14 October 1844<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Her place of birth (<strong>Eidv. He is her cousin, son of John Abrahamsen, Lars&#8217; brother.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;If you compare the tree with the story in Eidsvoll bygdebok, Br\u00e5ten S\u00f8ndre (Abrahams) you will see all the indicies will match. For me this is logic mathematics now, but it would be great to have a DNA analysis as well.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have since found conventional genealogical records that show that Dag was correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalarkivet.no\/census\/person\/pf01038024003906\">https:\/\/www.digitalarkivet.no\/census\/person\/pf01038024003906<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geni.com\/people\/Kristian-Jonsen\/6000000009987113456?fro...\">https:\/\/www.geni.com\/people\/Kristian-Jonsen\/6000000009987113456?fro&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1865-census-where-was-anton-syversen\">1865 Census: Where was Anton Syversen?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laura married Anton Syversen and had six children with him. There is only one Anton Syversen born in 1841 in &#8220;Rakkestad Prgj.&#8221; identified in the 1865 census. He was living in Tune working as a welder (Sveiser) living with Ole Andersen and his wife Berthe Nilsdatter (<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rhd.uit.no\/folketellinger\/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1865&amp;knr=0130&amp;kenr=001&amp;bnr=0085&amp;lnr=000\" target=\"_blank\">view the translation<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tune is located about 95 miles south of Eisdvoll (<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/dir\/Eidsvoll+Municipality,+Norway\/Tune+church,+Tuneveien+43,+1710+Sarpsborg,+Norway\/@59.8121779,10.5702518,9z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x46418bf80273621f:0x8d690714e670b3b!2m2!1d11.272252!2d60.3296456!1m5!1m1!1s0x464406bd8456604f:0xaaa83fc407776b26!2m2!1d11.0835264!2d59.2921933!3e0\" target=\"_blank\">view on Google Maps<\/a>). Eidsvoll was the home of the Eidsvoll Iron Works, but it reportedly ceased operations in 1822 (see <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eidsvoll_Verk\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia: Eidsvoll Verk<\/a>), which still leaves one wondering how and why this Rakkestad lad ended up in Eidsvoll for the momentous years of 1876 &#8211; 1878.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1875-census-where-was-laura\">1875 Census: Where was Laura?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In searching the 1875 census database, there is only one Laura Larsdatter born between 1843 and 1845 who is single: She was born in EIdsvold and was living in Aker, located about 45 miles southwest of Eidvoll (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/dir\/Eidsvoll,+Norway\/Akershus+Fortress,+0150+Oslo,+Norway\/@60.170464,10.5101464,9.22z\/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x46418bf80273621f:0x8d690714e670b3b!2m2!1d11.272252!2d60.3296456!1m5!1m1!1s0x46416e866d647ed3:0xaa290cda332eedba!2m2!1d10.7370841!2d59.907586!3e0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">view on Google Maps<\/a>). She was working as a servant (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhd.uit.no\/folketellinger\/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1875&amp;knr=0218&amp;kenr=009&amp;bnr=0072&amp;lnr=00\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">view the transcription<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1875-census-where-was-anton-syversen\">1875 Census: Where was Anton Syversen?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But where was Anton Martin Syversen? He has not been found, despite determined searches of the census database. The closest I have come so far is one &#8220;Anton Svendsen&#8221;, an unmarried patient in an Oslo hospital who was born in Rakkestad in 1840 and worked as a hireling [dagarbeider] (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhd.uit.no\/folketellinger\/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1875&amp;knr=0301&amp;kenr=015&amp;bnr=0901&amp;lnr=00\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">view the record<\/a>). It is possible that his information was garbled when the transcription was performed and this is actually him, but (so far) I have not obtained an image of the actual census record to review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1876-conception-of-daughter-anne-helene\">1876: Conception of daughter Anne Helene<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their daughter was born 2 April 1877. Assuming that Anton Syversen was the biological father, we can assume that&nbsp; Anton and Laura were on intimate terms around July 1876.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"24-march-1877-marriage-in-eidsvoll\">24 March 1877: Marriage in Eidsvoll<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The marriage occurred after the church fire so a record exists. The pending marriage was announced in the church on March 4, 11 and 18. The witnesses to the marriage itself were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Laren [maybe&#8230;] K Olsen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hans A. from Eidsv.
