Not much is known about\u00a0Georg Adam\u00a0K\u00fcmpel (See &#8216;View The List of Emigrants on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rayson.us\/aehanson\/genealogy\/maternal\/kumpel-kimbal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">K\u00fcmpel (Kimbal)<\/a>\u00a0).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findagrave.com\/memorial\/12301294\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tombstone in the Bellevue City Cemetery<\/a> that started my research into his branch of the family<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;<em>Church records, 1861-1988 &#8211;\u00a0United States, Iowa, Jackson, Bellevue<\/em>&#8216; (available on Family Search) has burial records as well:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/ark:\/61903\/3:1:3Q9M-CS77-1Q2M?i=92&amp;cat=587187\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George A Kuempel<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/ark:\/61903\/3:1:3Q9M-CS77-1WBT?i=91&amp;cat=587187\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ann Kimball<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>With the exception of burial records I have been unable to locate any United States records pertaining to\u00a0Georg Adam\u00a0K\u00fcmpel or his wife Anna. They may have moved frequently in the first few years: In &#8216;<em>The History of Jackson County, Iowa<\/em>&#8216; (published by the Western Historical Company in Chicago, Ill in 1879) says this about their youngest son:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;RICHARD [Adam] KIMBEL, livery and feed stable, and also proprietor of river ferry, and dealer in fine stock, Bellevue; born in Saxony, Germany, in 1840; <strong>came to this country at the age of 7 years, going to Galena, Ill. from there to Rush Creek and engaged in farming ; returned to Galena, thence to Bellevue,<\/strong> and ran the only dray in town&#8221; (page 667).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rayson.us\/aehanson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Capture.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1292 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rayson.us\/aehanson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Capture.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"459\" height=\"108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rayson.us\/aehanson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Capture.jpg 459w, https:\/\/www.rayson.us\/aehanson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Capture-300x71.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>They had the following children who appear to have emigrated with them in 1847 and used the surname &#8216;Kimbel&#8217; in the United States.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Augusta<\/strong>\u00a0(b. 1820), married <strong>Charles Rausch<\/strong>, had 8 children:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Charles<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bertra<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>John<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mena<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Catherine<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Louisa<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Emiline<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Amelia<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Christian<\/strong>\u00a0(b. 1824), married <strong>Eva Marie \u201cMary\u201d Knoebel<\/strong>, had 6 children:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Theresa<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>John C<\/strong> (married <strong>Eliza Sharp<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Caroline L<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Henry<\/strong> (married <strong>Matilda Caulke<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>George L<\/strong> (married <strong>Nellia A Helbert<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Edward<\/strong> (married <strong>Catherine O&#8217;Meara<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>George<\/strong>\u00a0(b. 1825)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wilhelmina<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Jornung<\/strong> (b. 1837), married <strong>Christian John Hornung<\/strong>.
