Significance to my family
This was home to George Karl Zang & Rosina Schmitt, my great-great grandparents.
- Me -> Anna Lorraine Amborn (1923 – 2019) -> Anna Marie Schultz (1884 – 1923) -> Margaret Juliana Zang (1858 – 1930) -> George Karl Zang (1824 – 1871) & Rosina Schmitt (1825 – 1903)
- Rosina Schmitt married George Karl Zang there in 1852. After his death in 1871 Rosina and daughters Margaret Zang and Rosini Josephi Zang emigrated to Walworth County, Wisconin in the United States.
- They had 14 children, although only three survived: Margaret, Rosini and Phillip. As noted above, Margaret and Rosini emigrated to the United States. Phillipp Johann Zang (1854 – 1905) remained and married Anna Maria Hartmann (1866 – 1937) in Arnstein on 25 May 1896. They had one known child, Karl Josef Zang (b. 1898), and both died in Arnstein.
This was also home to Johann Joseph Schultz & Anna Maria Metzger, my great-great grandparents.
