Significance to my family
Home to the Amborn branch of my family.
Me -> Anna Lorraine Amborn (1923 – 2019) -> George D. Amborn (1872 – 1933) -> Antone Henry Amborn (1840 – 1932) -> Caspar Friedrich Amborn (1816 – 1875)/Louise Theadore Hornung (1816 – 1899)
Caspar, Louise and three children emigrated from Germany in May 1847 and settled in Hudson, Walworth, Wisconsin. They were reportedly part of a group of 16 – 18 families who left the region together.
It is located about a mile East of Wernshausen where the Kümpel (Kimball) family (who were part of the 1847 group) lived.

This is the Protestant church and cemetery in Niederschmalkalden as they appeared when I photographed in them in August, 2017. The cemetery had many Amborn, Kümpel and Storandt graves from the 1900’s to the present.
