Significance to my family
Home to the Kümpel (Kimball) branch of my family.
Me -> Anna Lorraine Amborn (1923 – 2019) -> George D. Amborn (1872 – 1933) -> Martha Elonore Kimball (1844 – 1911) -> Just David Kuempel (1801 – 1868)/Margarethe Elizabeth Jung (1809 – 1881)
David, Margarethe and their children emigrated from Germany in May 1847 and settled in Hudson, Walworth, Wisconsin. They were reportedly part of a group of 16 – 18 families who left the region together.
Wernshausen is located about a mile West of Niederschmalkalden where the Amborn family (who were part of the 1847 group) lived.
